What Makes Me a Free Spirit?
Living life will present challenges at times making it easier to become a follower of others instead of taking control of opportunities. No matter what obstacles I face, I use perseverance and give 110 percent. I always strive to think outside of the box with my approach. Being a non- conformist and doing my own thing has allowed me to develop the attributes of a free spirit.
Being a free spirit personifies my life. I accept different lifestyles and cultures. I am someone who is curious and I push myself in seeking people who are different then me. I live a life of doing things that make me happy no matter how others might think of it. Being the one who drives a different kind of car, listens to all different kinds of music, wears the different pieces of clothing, and specifically in journalism takes assignments as a base intending to change it up with a new flair.
I believe it's important to be free spirit because it's the only way you can truly learn your true self. If you don’t have the mindset of persisting, risk-taking ,and following your own instinct then I believe you will never learn and experience all that life has to offer. Before I came across learning about this program, I did not believe I could describe in three words all it means to be free spirit. However, as I learned about Al Neuharth and this very well recognized Spirit and Journalism conference, I have realized I relate to the words of the late Al Neuharth: Dream, Dare, Do.
